What Will Happen to My Teeth During Veneers Treatment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your veneers\u2019 treatment will begin with your dentist numbing your mouth. That\u2019s because to fit your teeth, they\u2019ll need a tiny bit of enamel removed. This is to prevent them from being too bulky and affecting the way you speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the reshaping, your dentist will next take impressions of your teeth so the veneers will fit them securely. Then, you\u2019ll get temporary prosthetics to keep them safe until the permanent ones can be applied. With temporary veneers, you may experience some tooth sensitivity when eating anything too hot or cold, but this should go away when the permanent ones are placed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veneers take about two weeks to create at a dental lab. When yours are ready, you\u2019ll return to your dentist\u2019s office to have the temporary veneers removed and the permanent ones attached. This should be painless, and your teeth should be able to be used immediately after the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Do Veneers Feel Like?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once the permanent veneers are on your teeth, they shouldn\u2019t feel any different.  You may experience some sensitivity for a few days, but this should go away on its own. If you do have any speech difficulties (such as a slight lisp) this should also clear up within a few weeks as your mouth gets used to the prosthetics. If it does not, speak to your dentist about getting some of the porcelain filed down to make it easier for your tongue to navigate around your teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, veneers can instantly transform your smile in variety of ways, but they should never hurt or feel uncomfortable.
